About

Formerly located in the Washington Square section of downtown Newport, Rhode Island, Newport Eyeworks has since made its transition into an evolved mobile platform. The services previously available only in a traditional office are now available to come to you where and when you may need it.

Schedule your eye exam in the comfort of your own residence, office and even on a boat!

Our shop provides prescription eye wear, sunglasses, custom work, and “over-the-counter readers” with rapid turnaround, often in just a few days. Optometrists are available several times a month for eye exams and contact lens fittings. In addition, we provide repairs, adjustments, nose pad replacement, and tune-ups to eye wear. These services are free if the frame was purchased with us.

Rhode Island law requires a valid prescription generated within one year, and we are happy to contact your eye doctor for you to have your prescription faxed to our office.

Update, 3/20: We are now open limited hours by appointment only for eyewear pickup. Please call or email us at info@newporteyeworks.com to schedule. If you are experiencing an eye emergency, please call (401) 438-4447 or visit your local ER.

We accept a wide range of insurances, including VSP, EyeMed, UnitedHealth, Tufts, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and HarvardPilgrim. Please call our office with questions about your coverage.

Part of the Vision Care Network, Newport Eyeworks features up-to-the-minute fashion from eyewear companies such as Lafont, Persol, Ray Ban and Colors in Optics. We offer complete eye exams including contact lens fittings. Please call us today at 846-0101 to schedule your exam!
